The Rhythm and Blues Project featuring Denise Choate are a 4-piece Northern California band, the members met while playing in the esteemed Columbia College Jazz Band, they perform a diverse collection of music from the raw power of the blues, the groovy beats of Motown funk and R&B to the smooth sweet sound of Jazz.  Lead  singer Denise Choate's powerhouse vocals, dynamic stage presence and flair for fashion take center stage, supported by the musical skill and artistry of Mark, Clinton, and Mike.
 

Lead Vocals -  Denise Choate- The beautiful and talented vocalist Denise Choate, a vocal powerhouse, exuding raw emotion and soulful expression. With her commanding stage presence and flair for fashion, Denise captures the attention of audiences with each note she sings. Whether belting a blues melody or crooning jazz standards, her versatility and passion radiate,  making her an unforgettable presence on stage and in the hearts of listeners. In addition to her role in The Rhythm & Blues Project, Denise serves as a featured vocalist in the Sophisticats and Columbia Jazz Band, while frequently lending her talents as a guest vocalist to other local bands.

 

Drums - Mike Miller  Veteran percussionist Mike "Vern" Miller serves as the rhythmic cornerstone of The Rhythm and Blues Project, infusing each performance with his unparalleled expertise and passion. With a rich background honed through his  tenure with the esteemed Mario Flores band, Columbia Jazz Band and more, Miller brings a distinctive flair to every beat.

Keyboards Mark Gee - Mark Gee began his musical career as a stellar jazz saxophonist before transitioning to become a masterful keyboardist in the early 1990s, Widely recognized for his skill as a keyboardist, Gee's notable contributions to renowned ensembles such as the Mario Flores band, DJ Slate, and Rocket 88, Columbia jazz band and others underscore his versatility and exceptional talent across diverse musical genres his various influences contribute to his unique approach to the varied  music the Rhythm and Blues Project performs.

Bass  Professor Clinton Day - Clinton a highly skilled bassist, holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Music from San Jose State University. With over three decades of experience in the music industry, he boasts a distinguished career as a professional musician. His mastery of jazz and Funk bass has earned him accolades from audiences and fellow musicians alike. and he has collaborated with a notable array of esteemed musicians throughout his career, as a player who is always in demand he has made a formidable addition to The Rhythm and Blues Project
